Toh Puan Nor Ashikin An Examplary Woman

Allahyarhamah begitu setia membantu suaminya Tun Dr Ismail bekas Timbalan Perdana Malaysia. Allahyarhamah kerap pergi menunaikan umrah selama sebulan penuh apabila tibanya  Bulan Ramadhan setiap tahun. Saya pernah bersua dengan Allayarhamah di Hotel Zahrah Mekkah sekitar tahun 90an semasa bulan Ramadhan.  Semoga Allah memasukkan roh Allahyarhamah ke dalam golongan mereka yang dikasihi dan disayangi Allah.  Amin Ya Rabbul A'lamin.


Toh Puan Norashikin an examplary woman

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak described Toh Puan Norashikin Mohd Seth, widow of former deputy prime minister Tun Dr Ismail Abdul Rahman as an examplary woman. "Toh Puan Norashikin strongly supported her husband Tun Dr Ismail. She was a polite person and was involved in many charitable activities," he told reporters after the burial ceremony at Warriors'' Mausoleum, Masjid Negara here today.

Najib said Toh Puan Norashikin's death was a big loss to the generation who contributed to the country's independence and development.

Those present include former prime minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Sidek Hassan.
Toh Puan Norashikin, 80, died of old age in Damansara Specialist Hospital at noon yesterday.
She was the second woman to be buried at Warriors'' Mausoleum after former welfare minister Tun Dr Fatimah Hashim.
Gua Musang Member of Parliament Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah said Toh Puan Norashikin was a loyal wife and supported Tun Dr Ismail after the May 13 racial riots in 1969.

"She urged Tun Dr Ismail to accept the post of deputy prime minister during the emergency and was always supportive in the background."

Razaliegh said Toh Puan Norashikin was also concerned with the welfare of police personnel when Tun Dr Ismail was the home minister.
Her brother former armed forces chief Tan Sri Ghazali Seth said she was an active and spiritually strong person.

"She goes to perform the umrah in Mekah annually and visit her grandchildren in Australia regularly."

Ghazali said Toh Puan Norashikin was undergoing treatment for various ailments at Damansara Specialist Hospital. - Bernama
