Last Sunday we celebrated Jannah's birthday which falls on 8th June and also at the same time celebrating the birthdays of all the June Babies in our big family.
There are six of us whose birthdays are in June. Starting with Imelda Fauzia ( Abdul Rahim's wife) whose birthday is on 3rd June. This is followed by Azmaton (Kak Long) on June the 4th. Jannah as mentioned earlier celebrates hers on the 8th. My birthday falls on the 10th of June. Asri's birthday meanwhile is on the 16th. Lastly Faiz Sani (Raihana's husband) celebrated his on the 30th of June.
So normally we compromise and celebrate on a particular birthday which is convenient to everybody. So for this year it was Jannah's birthday that was choosen as it falls on a Sunday.
This year's celebrations were low key. The conversations were on the recent increases in the fuel prices and the consensus that everybody needs to change and adjust their lifestyles to suit to the current economic circumstances. Given the way the world oil prices are spiraling the future looks very challenging indeed. Nevertheless, for the moment............
