KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 10 (Bernama) -- The post of Umno deputy president has not seen a contest for the last 21 years but the party election in March next year will see a three-cornered fight for the post when Umno information chief Tan Sri Muhammad Muhd Taib qualified to contest on the last day for divisional elections Sunday.
Muhammad, who is also Rural and Regional Development Minister, achieved the required quota of 39 nominations after vice-president Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam made the cut Saturday.
They will pit themselves against vice-president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin who passed the hurdle on Oct 19. Bernama
