PEACE IN IRAQ

Moqtada had threaten the Iraqi government with 'open war' if it does not stop attacking his supporters.

The situation Iraq is really opposite to what is happening in Malaysia where the political battles between the various political parties are done without any violence involved.

Our prayer is that this state of affairs will continue into the future generations as violence in a country will only destroy and bring sufferings to the people.

Our prayer also is that may peace come as soon as possible to Iraq, a country rich in resources especially oil. Instead of warring among themselves their country should bring about peace. Their natural wealth could then be used to develop Iraq on the model of Malaysia as a modern Muslim country.

Thus peace makers like the OIC, Arab League or the UN should aggressively work out an peace acceptable to all the parties and factions in Iraq. Shia and Sunni leaders should be brought to meet each other independent of the Americans who have their own agenda and plan to control the country and its rich oil resources.

That is the opportunity cost of the war to Iraq and if the war is not stopped it will become an opportunity lost to the country.
